Re: Is it too soon for an official Europa League thread?
Either way Mercenary there are at least 10+ points gained from Lingard & Haller's goals even if it were a draw or we conceded....probably more... which last season means we wouldn't be in the Europa League.

Silly boy thinks we now have a better squad without them......even a shit Haller covering for an injured Antonio contributed enough to make our season a good one.

I agree about Haller btw - crucial equaliser against Palace when it looked like we were never going to score. I mean, he moved like a lamp post mostly, but still more useful than an empty shirt!

Side,

How many points did Fabianski cost us with mistakes, or by being out injured, forcing us to play Randolph?

We now have a superior, younger, fitter keeper.

Re: Is it too soon for an official Europa League thread?
It's not going to be short lived. It's a minimum of six games.

And comparing it to last time - with its essentially preseason games with our players missing not close to fit - is a bit off.

It will be fun.

Watched the St Johnstone Galatasaray game. We can take the winner if they get through. Fegouli scored by the way.

Wonder kid, what do those coefficients mean? Looks like we’re somewhere just below the middle, I’m guessing the higher the coefficient the better? Bit crap that Celtic who we had a good friendly win against are above us!?

Mex

It determines the pot you are in for the draw.

Ours is from being English.

Celtic are in Europe every year, of course they’re gonna have a higher coefficient than us.

Not enough to stop us getting into the Europa League......

Re: Is it too soon for an official Europa League thread?
The coefficient is calculated by working out an average score: dividing the number of points obtained, by the total number of clubs representing an association in that season's two club competitions. The resulting figure is then tallied with the results of the previous four seasons to calculate the coefficient.

He almost certainly cost us getting in the CL.

Looking like 99 percent sure pot 3 for us so we then draw one team out of pot 1,2 and 4 but obviously cant draw teams from same country

Re: Is it too soon for an official Europa League thread?
So did Fornals with his misses.....you could go on ...but the fact is being two players short in the goal scoring department even if one was there to cover Antonio....does NOT make the squad better......but you are just being a dick.......

Re: Is it too soon for an official Europa League thread?
Clearly not as you started one!

On a serious note, I am well up for this. I was a teenager during the Intertoto Cup and although the Metz second leg was magic, it is not considered European Football proper.

Other European campaigns have been very unsuccessful. With a minimum of 6 games, hopefully we can get it right this time and have a proper run.

For us.

For other teams it is their own four year record in Europe.

You take the higher.

According to the Bible on this sort of thing, we will not be in pot 4 after tonight's results

Re: Is it too soon for an official Europa League thread?
Jim C - it was a tongue in cheek question!

Possible that no away fans will be allowed in September. That's put a dampener on it. Drawing a Scottish team will help with that though...
